Course title GPRS Advanced Signalling

Course description The functions of protocols used on different interfaces of the GPRS network are explained. Focus is put on the procedures between MS-PCU-SGSN. Here the protocols used on layer 3-1 are explained in details. Each message and its content in the signalling flow over the Um Interface is followed and explained in details. The new features that EDGE introduces are discussed. This course is based on specifications, which makes the knowledge more useful in daily work.

Who would benefit Those who require a thorough understanding of the GPRS network, particular Air Interface protocols and procedure. Suitable for engineers in production, implementation and operation of a GPRS network.

Prerequisites A good understanding of mobile networks, its architecture and operation is required.

Length 3 days (full course), 2 days (focus on air interface)
