3GPP SAE/EPC Architecture

After an IMS refresh also covering SIP and VoIP, The SAE/ECP Architecture course gives a good understanding of the System Architecture Evolution, SAE, leading to the Evolved Packet Core, EPC. The course will cover the network architecture with its nodes and signalling flows. The packet data network gateway, PGW will be studied. The interworking with 3GPP legacy systems prior to Rel 8 and the interworking with non-3GPP systems like PSTN, WiMAX and Wi-FI will also be studied incl. a number of interfaces. Different services like MBMS, Location and precence will be studied. |

Engineers about start working in the SAE/EPC area requiring an understanding of the architecture and functions of the protocols and signalling.

Good understanding of UMTS Core and IMS is strongly recomended and basic understanding of the LTE architecture and funtionalty is favourable.
